SYNOPSIS
A graffiti artist and the singer of a punk band, meet in an atmosphere of profound social crisis and discontent. Their idealist and revolutionary minds seek a world of justice and they are willing to fight for it. Music and street art, unite them and serve as their weapons. Naive and innocent, they are unaware of the power of impunity and injustice until they fall victims to police brutality, awakening the unimaginable rage of those who have nothing left to lose. When justice is absent, revenge is an act of faith.
In their quest for a better world, Viktor and Eva
confront profound injustice and impunity that leave them with no choice but to erupt in defiance.

Diana Laura Di
An artist whose essence lies in music and voice, which have shaped a diverse and multifaceted career. Originally from Baja California Sur, she has lived in Mexico City since 2014. Her education includes studies at the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México, CasAzul, Fermatta, and Casa del Teatro. As a singer and backing vocalist, she has explored a range of genres, including jazz, soul/R&B, rock, punk, spoken word, rancheras, and pop cabaret. She has collaborated with artists such as Mon Laferte, Andrés Sánchez, and Patrick Watson. She is currently working on her debut album. She makes her leading role debut in Violentas Mariposas.

VÍKTOR
Alejandro Porter
Mexican actor and musician. He studied Musical Theater and Acting at UDL and began his career in theater with the play Nubes atiborradas llovieron sueños, which was nominated for the ACPT awards. In 2021, he launched his musical project Rosmery with his brother Diego Hartze. His television debut came in 2022 with a leading role in the series Marea Alta. In 2023, he appeared in Archivo Muerto and Mujeres Asesinas, and starred in the film Violentas Mariposas. He has also worked on Un día para Vivir and will soon be seen in Jump-Start My Heart. In 2024, he participated in the film Morro, which is in post-production, and is preparing for his upcoming film Testigos, set to be filmed at the end of the year.

Violent Butterflies stands as a youth anthem, with a soundtrack that ignites the revolutionary spirit within us. Music pulsates through the veins of our characters' lives, propelling the film's narrative with a tapestry of tension, hysteria, and rebellion. Blending original punk rock and jazz, the soundtrack holds a universal appeal, resonating mostly with contemporary youth audiences.
The soundtrack and score for Violent Butterflies were composed by the Swedish musician Martin Thulin. The soundtrack also features tracks by Los Cogelones, Los Fancy Free, Niña Diablo, The Damned, Cosas Ilegales, and Arvo Pärt.
